The process of Bottle Deposit Return involves setting a predetermined deposit amount on each bottle sold, which customers can return for cash. When a customer returns a bottle, you can access the Bottle Return page on the POS system and return their deposit in cash.
To access the Taxes menu, once logged on, click on the Products
, followed by the Taxes
button.
Click the Create
button on the taxes menu.
You should now have a new tax page where you can add your tax name, and the Type, make sure the type of tax is the amount
. In the Rate field, type in the Amount of Deposit you want to collect for the product.
Name*
: Name of the tax. For example, the City of Phoenix Tax.
Type*
: Percentage or Amount. for our bottle return purpose, you want it to be on Amount.
Rate*
: This is the numeric number for which the deposit will be calculated After putting in all the fields needed, click the submit
button.
After creating the tax, we can apply it to our bottle product and collect the corresponding deposit. During the product creation process, we can select the newly created tax to ensure it is applied correctly. This will enable us to use the tax as a return amount from the POS system.
To Give back a bottle Deposit in Cash, click on Bottle Deposit Menu
from the update Settings Page on the POS tablet.
Once you arrive at the Bottle Return page, you will need to select the type of deposit return you wish to make. For instance, if you have a glass bottle worth 20 cents and tin cans worth 15 cents, choose one of them to proceed.
Once you have selected the type of Bottle deposit that you want to refund, go ahead and decide the number of bottles that are being refunded. Adjust the quantity and click Refund Via Cash
to give out the refund.
